"Il Mondiale in piazza" is a short film by the multi-award-winning Apulian director Vito Palmieri, winner of the MigrArti – La Cultura Unisce grant, produced with the support of the Apulia Film Fund. The short film was screened at the 75th Venice International Film Festival, where it won the award for Best Film in the MigrArti La Cultura che unisce section and the European Cultural Heritage Award.

The film reflects on the sense of a community that is more vibrant and multicultural than ever, already transformed and integrated thanks to the second generations of Italians, who are simply seeking confirmation of their legitimacy. Football becomes a sport that unites and can overcome prejudices and barriers.
